The Author's Table with Ray Smithies

Local Author Ray Smithies is coming to Lilydale Library to share his writing experiences with you. Ray has just had his first novel published, Scorpio's lot, an action-packed suspense thriller.

A light luncheon will be served in conjunction with Ray's talk.

Scrapping and Cropping

Bern is coming to Lilydale Library to demonstrate the craft of scrapbooking. Come along and join her for a chat about this growing trend of preserving personal and family history in the form of photographs, printed media and memorabilia in decorated albums and scrapbooks.

Bern will be at Lilydale Library on the following Wednesdays - 11th November, 18th November, 25th November & 2nd December.

Children's Week 2009

Drop into your local Yarra Ranges branch to pick up the calendar of events that are occuring around the shire of Yarra Ranges to celebrate Children's Week Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November.

The range fabulous free activites and events for children 0-12 including Teddy bears concert, Family Expo, Reptiles and Children's art exhibition.

James has worked as a children's librarian since retiring as a Library Science Professor at Texas Women's University. He has undertaken postdoctoral studies in early childhood literacy, and is the author if a number of books

Shannon is a Children's Librarian with the Seattle Public Library in Washington State. She holds a Masters in Library Science and specializes in children's literacy.
